The talented and popular Nepalese Singer and Actor, Yash Kumar was in Melbourne for the premiere of his latest release ‘Bato Muni Ko Phool-2’. The Hon. Consul General Chandra Yonzon officially inaugurated the movie’s premiere screening, held at Village Cinema, Crown Casino complex. Kumar also visited the Nepalese Consulate on Wednesday, 9 December 2015.
The Hon. Consul General accorded him a warm traditional welcome. In his felicitation address, the Hon. Consul General said that it was a pleasure to have a young multi-faceted artist in Melbourne, who besides being a good singer is also a gifted actor and director. The Hon. Consul General commended Yash Kumar for his outstanding contribution to Nepali music and his endeavours to bring about changes in the society and community at large at various levels. He lauded the artist for being a source of inspiration for the upcoming generation in Nepal.
The Hon Consul General said that a hero needed to be more than a singer or a player. He must possess the skill and the mindset to make a change for the betterment of the society. Heroes must have the ability to practice what they preach and praised Kumar for leading by example.
Yash Kumar said that he firmly believed that there is unity in diversity and place for only one caste in this world – caste of Humanity. The singer-actor also shared his experiences, outlining his struggles and relentless pursuit of his passion for singing that kept him going during tough times. He thanked the Hon. Consul General, the members of the community and his fans for inviting him and honouring him. Yash Kumar was accompanied by his wife, Rina Nepal.
