Nepal established diplomatic relationship with Australia on 15 February 1960. A residential embassy of Nepal was established in March 2007.
The Nepal Embassy is located in Canberra, the capital of Australia.

Ambassador of Nepal to Australia

Mr. Rudra Kumar Nepal was appointed as the Ambassador of Nepal to Australia in 2012. Mr. Nepal holds Masters of Arts in Economics from Tribhuvan University (TU) in Nepal and a Graduate Diploma in Foreign Affairs and Trade from Australian National University (ANU).

Mr. Nepal previously held the portfolio of the First Secretary at the Embassy of Nepal in Tokyo and as Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of Nepal in Washington DC and at the Nepalese Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel.
