Hon. Consul General Attends ‘Kabita Concert: Celebrating Depth’

Hon. Consul General of Nepal to Victoria, Mr Chandra Yonzon, and his wife, Mrs Laxmi Yonzon, attended ‘Kabita Concert: Celebrating Depth’, a poetry recital by Nawaraj Parajuli, at Thornbury Theatre on Saturday afternoon, 5 August 2017. Mr Parajuli’s recital was enhanced by soft piano, flute and other traditional Nepalese instrumentals making for a captivating performance.


Mr Parajuli and his team visited the Nepal Consulate Office on Monday, 7 August, where Hon. Consul General facilitated Mr Parajuli and team with khada shawls before being presented with a copy of Parajuli’s book, Sagarmathako Gahirahi. Hon. Consul General and his esteemed guests discussed contemporary Nepali literature, as well as Parajuli’s personal journey to poetry.


Mr Yonzon thanks those who made Saturday’s performance possible, including Mr Samyak Maharjan, Mr Chet Pun and Ms Shuvechchhya Pradhan. Mr Yonzon also expresses thanks to event organiser, Sahitya Sangeet Jamghat and team, including Peshal Luitel, Anupam Sayar Raju Shakya and Norgen Norbóó, event presenter, Nepalese Association of Victoria (NAV) and event manager, Solangture. The Nepal Consulate Office expresses special thanks to Mr Norbóó for escorting Parajuli and guests to the Consulate Office, and thanks him for his unconditional love and support for our work.
