Chandra Yonzon Meets with Team Nepal Cricketers

Hon. Consul General of Nepal to Victoria, Chandra Yonzon, attended an interaction session with Team Nepal on Thursday, 25 October 2018 and proudly met Nepalese cricket players representing Nepal (Nepalese Community) in this year’s Melbourne Renegades Champions League 2018.

At the interaction session, Consul General Yonzon congratulated all players and requested that community members rally behind and attend the match to support those representing Nepal and the community. Consul General Yonzon said that he is delighted to see that sports are gaining popularity in the community and that young stars are coming to the stage to showcase their skills with enthusiasm. He expressed his thanks to the team’s manager, Prayash Subedi, as well as the entire team for the wonderful session.

The first match will see Team Nepal face off with new entrant, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team at Ransford Oval in Parkville on Sunday 28 October 2018. Melbourne Renegades Champions League Twenty20, of which Team Nepal is a founding member, is a unique cricket tournament which reflects Victoria’s culturally diverse communities by uniting them in competition through the common love of cricket.
