Hon. Consul General Attends First Annual GCCM Gala Dinner

Hon. Consul General of Nepal to Victoria, Mr Chandra Yonzon, and his wife, Mrs Laxmi Yonzon, were privileged to attend and participate at the first annual gala dinner of Gorkhali Cricket Club Melbourne (GCCM) at Big Belly Asian Café on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

The evening’s program saw the GCCM celebrate its first year’s achievements and successes, with Hon. Consul General Yonzon having the honour of speaking at the event. Mr Yonzon offered his best wishes to the club, congratulating them on their anniversary. Mr Yonzon wished his very best for the advancement of cricket in Victoria, and welcomed the continued strengthening of the Nepalese community through community members’ participation in existing organisations.

Nepal Consulate Office Hosts SAG Sporting Greats

Hon. Hon. Consul General Attends ‘Kabita Concert: Celebrating Depth’

Hon. Consul General of Nepal to Victoria, Mr Chandra Yonzon, and his wife, Mrs Laxmi Yonzon, attended ‘Kabita Concert: Celebrating Depth’, a poetry recital by Nawaraj Parajuli, at Thornbury Theatre on Saturday afternoon, 5 August 2017. Mr Parajuli’s recital was enhanced by soft piano, flute and other traditional Nepalese instrumentals making for a captivating performance.

Mr Parajuli and his team visited the Nepal Consulate Office on Monday, 7 August, where Hon. Consul General facilitated Mr Parajuli and team with khada shawls before being presented with a copy of Parajuli’s book, Sagarmathako Gahirahi. Hon. Consul General and his esteemed guests discussed contemporary Nepali literature, as well as Parajuli’s personal journey to poetry.

The Hon. Consul General of Nepal to Victoria, Mr Chandra Yonzon, and his wife, Mrs Laxmi Yonzon, attended the Non-Resident Nepali Association Australia (NRNA) 7th National Conference in Brisbane on Saturday 22 July 2017.

Bendigo Council, including Mayor Councillor at the City of Greater Bendigo, Ms Margaret O’Rourke, and Nepali dignitaries discussed Australian technical and vocational education training to develop the TVET Policy program in Nepal.
